Engineering Manager / Senior Engineering Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a capable Engineering Manager / Senior Engineering Manager who brings strong engineering leadership, proven delivery ownership, and a solid technical background. The ideal candidate will lead engineering teams while ensuring projects are delivered on time, with quality, and within budget. Beyond people management, you will actively engage in technical discussions, support pre-sales by preparing Statements of Work (SOWs) with accurate sizing, scope, and timelines, and establish world-class engineering practices. You will also play a key role in building and maintaining an Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE) to foster innovation, quality, and scalability across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow engineering teams through hiring, mentoring, career development, and resource allocation.
- Drive engineering delivery to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with high quality.
- Review and guide solution designs, architecture decisions, and estimates for technical feasibility and alignment.
- Contribute to pre-sales by preparing Statements of Work (SOWs) with accurate effort sizing, scope definition, and timelines.
- Establish and maintain engineering best practices including coding standards, testing, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native adoption.
- Oversee scaled production systems, ensuring operational readiness and effective production support.
- Build and maintain an Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE) to promote innovation, standardization, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 10+ years in software engineering with 4-5+ years in engineering management or leadership.
- Proven track record in delivering projects on time, within budget, and at high quality.
- Strong project management exposure with ability to manage scope, timelines, and risks.
- Experience preparing project SOWs including sizing, scope, and delivery timelines.
- Solid understanding of cloud-native platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), containerization, and modern DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and scalable engineering processes.
- Exposure to managing or engaging with scaled production systems and production support.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience leading distributed or remote teams is a plus.
